Constant crashes on Mac OS X

Recommended Posts

I'm getting about 4 crashes per hour, even when doing nothing.

For example, I just loaded the game, loaded my save, and went to VAB...hang then crash.

I have un-modded game, newest version, no other programs running, new Macbook Pro, SSD, 8GB RAM, 1GB graphics card.

This is terrible!

Have you tried verifying the game cache? (In Steam [assuming you got it there] right-click on the game and go Properties>Local Files>Verify integrity of game cache)
If not, something could've gone wrong during the download - it might be worth deleting everything and re-downloading the game (Steam>right click on game>delete local content)
Don't forget to back up your saves folder first!

I've been playing KSP on my iMac for a while now, suffering through the crashes. Last night, I found a post on reddit that describes how to update the Unity engine to 64bit inside the KSP package. I did this. It's amazing.

Since, I've installed some serious visual mods and run at over 5GB, no crashes, period.

Another thing: if you have a retina mac, switch to a non-retina resolution before opening. Specifically, a non-HDPI resolution.
