Project ARK GENESIS

Recommended Posts

This challenge was sort of inspired by the "Plan Kappa" comics made by someone on this forum.

So.. to get straight to the point:
Exactly at the first successful touchdown on the Mün, you have exactly 2 years time.
In these two years, get up as much materials and kerbals as possible.
After these two years, you may not launch anything from/at kerbin, and neither land on it.
It may be used to dump asteroids of course, but ships MUST be deassembled.
To avoid tricks, the Mün HAS to be the first other body to land on besides Kerbin.

Of course you need some mods too:
Extraplanetary Launchpads
Kethane
KSP Interstellar(Optional)
Kerbal Attachment System(Optional, but useful)
Kerbal Inventory System(Optional, but also very useful)

And if you want to play it a bit harder:
Remote Tech

Idea on how to manage that:
Try to deploy some containers filled with stuff as soon as you have dockingports, these can then later be collected and emptied.
Try to get a station up ASAP.

I had my first Mün landing in my specified world at day 1, so you know what to do ;)

Well, you also can launch vehicles to other bodies too

I'll just set it to 2 years?

You of course also have to gather a lot of science to get up better modules within that time

You could also go full independant with the first station

good, now it will only take me 2 years non-stop IRL to complete this challenge.

Sounds interesting, basically we are just mining and building lots of ships on the Mun?  What's the catch? Seems like you could launch a theoretically infinite amount of junk, limited only by mining speed collecting resources?

Well, gathering science during the countdown is also very important, so you can easily make more efficient launches, like my minmus ground station complex is almost self sustaining

Ohhh, and another tip, while doing missions try to make as much debris as possible so you can later on collect it

Dude, you also need to set up a lot of things, add things, life support! Anything!
Having Remote Tech, TAC Life Support and other things makes it a real challenge
