I imagine a rebellion aboard the ISS would be fought with sporks and would end with everyone dead.

In space manufacturing has the great advantage that you need a lot less materials since you don't need to deal with integrity in atmoshpheric situations.

Galactica is 1.5km long and over half a kilometer wide. That's 5 times bigger than our aircraft carriers.

And only 3* longer than the longest seafaring vessel ever built. The only reasons we haven't gone longer is that it's expensive. There's no place to lay a keel that a 1.5 km ship would need.

The tallest building is about 830 meters tall.

But im referring to mass. What's the Galactica's mass?

The mass was never given, but the Galactica is a very "solid" ship. The hull is coated in armor, and except for the Hangar pods, the interior isn't particularly roomy.

We can build some pretty massive things. See the Golden Gate Bridge, or the Great Pyramid (built thousands of years ago). The world's global steel production is about 1500 million tonnes. Nearly half of that alone is from China. If this thing is built out of steel we can build it. At least as a species.
