Project EGO - A game I've been developing

Hello there!  My friend and I have been working on a game, which has finally, after 7 months of on and off development, reached prototype.  It still has some issues which have worked their way into this release, but it is mainly the "hey, we're making a thing" release.

Looks alright so far, but I have questions:
- What's it actually about? The video explains the backstory, but not a lot of gameplay. I got an impression it was about being a lonely ore miner gathering ore from planets and selling it. But why? What's the goal in the game?
- Is mining and selling ore the primary game mechanic, or will there be others, for example space combat?
- Why are you using the old Unity GUI system? Did you start the game before Unity 4.6 came out?

Also, the video seems kind of slow, even at 2x speed. For future videos, I recommend speeding things up so as to not lose the audience's attention.

It's actually a really small part if it.  We're going to be adding a combat part to it, which will be the primary part of it, but the mining aspect was a quicker to add gameplay part.  The prototype has been mainly just getting it out there that we're doing something.  (I'll admit that it was a bit rushed, so I didn't get the time to add it.)   We'll be releasing another soon with some bug fixes, and likely adding that system.  Of course, we do eventually want to add rewards for kills, and even possibly battles, but that part's a bit more down the road.  Another idea we've had is to allow you to chose a side.  Yes, we should've added the combat part to it before the trade system, but hindsight is 20/20.

Totally agreed.  I was very much in a rush, as I made this after the release.  I will definitely take your advice.
