Re-install of KSP

Greetings to all KSP players,

I signed up and downloaded KSP 03/2015 when still in beta testing version 0.8.0 beta. I installed and  saved the original install files to a back up. Over the last year I upgraded to version 1.01. At that time I was using a SATA drive. I recently had to replace that hard drive and I chose an SSD drive. When I visited the webpage several weeks ago, I saw that a newer version 1.0.5 was available. I downloaded it in addition to the installer and gave it a try. It did not work and after uninstalling and trying my original files from purchase, that too did not work. Any ideas?

The message I am receiving is: The game crashed. The crash report folder named " 2016-03-09_214124" next to game executable. It would be great if you'd send it to the developer of the game.

I hit ok but no response yet.

May want this thread moved to the support forums.

Did you install 1.0.5 in a new folder or stick it in the same place? 

Did you have any 1.01 mods?
