What is the reputation thing?

There is that reputation thing, but I don't know how it goes up/down. Can anyone answer that?

It goes up one point whenever someone "Likes" a post.  No clue how it goes down since there is not a "Dislike" button.  Probably takes a few significant infractions imposed by some moderators to go down.

If in the game, it has to do with what contacts you're offered. Low rep=crummy contracts. More rep=slightly less crummy contracts. There's a thread discussing how to get the actual rep number here.

Reputation is similar to how many likes you have on facebook, on one hand it's obviously valuable, on the other hand no it isn't.

If you are talking about in game it is a measure of your success as a space program. It goes up when you complete contracts or break records or do things that have yet to be done in that save (i.e. land on the mun for the first time). But if for example you accept a contract but fail or just don't do it before the expiration time then your reputation goes down. A lot of people thing that it is useless but actually the contracts you receive, along with other factors, depend on this. Hope this helps

You know, if you only go out with good boys or girls, you treat them right, never kiss on a first date, you call you mother/father/favorite aunt frequently, keep you word.. then you'll get a good reputation.
