I'd hate waste all the work i did with the FireFlash project, so i took the fuselage of the second version of the full sized aircraft and the enginepods from the third version and built a new aircraft around them.

This is now my new all-time favorite aircraft next to the Tornado 5

aRuax61.png

Specs:

Top speed: 180 m/s in low altitude.

Range: about about one and a half times back and forth between KSC and the island airfield with the current load of 3130 units of fuel.

Weight: bout 350 tons.

Length: 80m.

Wingspan: 80m.

Height: 14m.

Manouverability: (Modded) very good for an aircraft of it's size. (stock) all the same except that the turn rate i pretty bad because of wing flex.

Minimum takeoff speed: 80 m/s

Minimum controllable speed: 65-70 m/s

Armament (Stock and modded): Whatever you can throw in the bomb-bays

Armament (Walkyrie) two Oerlikon Millenium cannons. two 30mm chainguns. one Airbourne laser. and whatever you can throw in the bomb-bays.

Part count:

Stock: 644 parts.

Modded: 450 parts.

Walkyrie: 622 parts. (just the mouth itself has about 60 or so parts).

Engines: eight Goliath engines and 6 Panther engines.

All and all, it's a very solid and well preforming aircraft considering that it's a double-decker design of that size.

And the modded version has a pretty low part count, witch means that i can take it for a flight without having unbarable lag.

FUN FACT: The name is not just random, its actually pretty clever (not really). Since the original aircraft this one is based upon is from the Thunderbirds, it's basically Thunderbirds inspired, but instead of calling it the ThunderBird i instead called it the StormBird. It's similar but not the same.

So, there it is for you, a recycled aircraft that started it's life as a failed attempt at recreating the FireFlash, but then turned into a pretty sweet little plane.

I hope you enjoy it :).

Mods used:

Stock: none.

Modded: prosedural wings

Walkyrie: prosedural wings, BD-armoury, Kerbpaint and Nebula decals.

If you want to try out the stock version, just ask.

PS. If you guys want to see a 1:5 scale "Lite" version of this plane like i did wit the FireFlash, i would be happy to make one. So just ask.

RIght? RIGHT? What I said about failure leading to success?

This is a masterpiece of audacious design, sir! And I LOVE the military version! Now THAT'S what I call a true SKY-FORTRESS!!

And yes - you should always use all-caps when saying that in reference to this great beast - it's like the air-going equivalent of BRIAN BLESSED!!! In fact I could just see him playing the military commander in charge of this thing. :D

"Oh well... who wants to live forever? DIIIIIIIIIIVE!!!"
