Figuring out Asset Compiler

This is the new asset loading method that comes with 1.1. It's a bit of a mystery how to use.

So far best I can get is generating the XML asset list, and produce an assetbundle... that doesn't appear to contain the assets I associated to the bundle. Building the squadcore bundle in PartTools1.1 only generates a squadcore.ksp file half the size as the one in GameData, and it also appears to be empty of any contents.

anyone else have made more progress? Any Squad staff care to elucidate the process? 

It appears modders can add entries to KSPedia using Assetbundle, is that the case?
