I actually edited that part out because I decided not to be a petty grammar (member of the party that ran Germany during World War II).

And yet another jab ... how lovely to know that there are those types of people here

I have to say, I find it very discouraging that people think they are being "attacked" because someone created a challenge you can't (yet) participate in. Attacked? Don't you think that's being a bit dramatic?

How is that a jab? Sorry, I think I should stop posting here, this is just getting a little crazy.

OK, let me make sure there are no misunderstandings. I called myself a term, which starts with "Grammar" and ends with a word that rhymes with "Yahtzee". Only the forum apparently doesn't allow you to use that word, so the first time I posted it, it changed it to "Grammar Bad Person." The second time, I was having a little fun pointing out that I can't say the actual word. But to be perfectly clear, I wasn't accusing you of it, I was saying I wasn't going to be that kind of person. Fair enough?

We're all friends here, and I like to keep it friendly! This is KSP, not Dark Souls! :)

Anyway, back to the meat of the original post, I somewhat agree with the OP.  I don't think everybody who got involved in the Pre-Release got onboard in the spirit it was meant.  It was meant as a test release, to be kicked and prodded and warped to the best that the community could.  It wasn't expected to be "played" and "used" by the community as just another release and I think Squad tried hard wherever they could to try and hammer that message home to both those who could use it and those who couldn't.  Fact is right at the beginning it was pretty terrible, with weird and wonderful but obviously badly broken parts making proper playing not really worth the effort.  I rolled back to 1.05 after about a week and logging a few bugs so I could enjoy it again.

I think adding challenges or spoliers or even just details to the forum, outside of the 1.1 area, that some people couldn't get involved in right away might be considered a bit of a dick move but I honestly don't think it would have been done in mallice, just through overexcitement and lack of foresight.  The fact is this is now rather a moot point as 1.1 is now live and out there and everyone can now enjoy it - warts and all!

Wow, this thread got unpleasant quickly. :(

During the prerelease period it was the moderation team's policy to keep *all* prerelease discussion in the prerelease subforum, including challenges. Some were moved, others were locked, and there are likely some that we missed.

The reason for this was fairness to the community. For practical reasons the prerelease was not available to all members here, it would seem to be extra cruel to keep them from participating in other areas of the community as well. We wanted to make it as easy as possible for those who didn't have access to avoid 1.1 content if they so chose; allowing that content to spread throughout the forum would seem like rubbing their faces into the fact that they couldn't try it.

Hopefully next go round everyone will have access to the prerelease if one is made available, if not we will likely handle it the same way as this time and keep all discussion contained within a subforum.

Seeing as this thread devolved so quickly into name-calling it will be closed.
