KerbinCity for 1.1

Recommended Posts

Well, you know the KerbinCity KerbalKonstructs fix for 1.0.5

As it turns out, this unofficial fix for it actually works with 1.1, surprisingly, since 1.1 has huge changes on the backend, notably the upgrade to Unity 5. It surprised me since 1.0.5 is compiled on Unity 4 (Unity 4.3 I believe, a very old Unity version), and 1.1 was recompiled on 5 (5.2 I believe, a somewhat dated version of Unity 5). I should be surprised since the upgrade also slightly changed the .cfg files I believe. But read the link below, and follow the instructions. You'll know when it works when it shows up for selection in KerbalKonstructs.

I'm not remotely surprised. Whilst the colliders on statics was briefly a problem caused by KSP discontinuing legacy support that was needed for statics, community members stepped up and got an interim fix in place, giving me time to concentrate on work.

Turns out, that support of collider-types that are more suitable for statics than parts wasn't dropped in Unity 5 and I then adopted and tweaked the interim fix.

Regardless, I personally am rather pleased that KerbinCity works with Kerbal Konstructs and that in fact it only needed the configs of a very old mod to be updated to work.
