Not NASA Released over 10,000 Photos from the Apollo Moon Mission

Recommended Posts

What do you mean ? The Apollo photos, films, flight journal transcripts and lunar surface transcripts have been available for decades, as well as diagrams, drawings, reports, studies, and science papers.

Ignorance doesn't justify stupidity.

Not to mention if you read the "About the Project Apollo Archive and Gallery..." post on the front page, the guy that made the page explicitly says that HE'S NOT NASA.

So NASA has done exactly nothing. Also, he states the archive was started by him in 1999.

Bearing in mind that the Apollo photos are central to many of the theories surrounding the moon landings, this is more likely to give more fuel to the fire, rather than putting existing conspiracy theories to rest.

It's cool to see more of this stuff being made available nevertheless.

OMG.

I just found that and thought it would interest some of you.

I didn't expect some bigmouthes to finish me off just because I didn't write a thesis on that matter.

Smartassary doesn't show intelligence.

The ignorance remark wasn't aimed at you. It was for those who are stupid enough to believe in conspiracist theories rather than looking up the Apollo archives on nasa.gov:

The only news is that some guy has uploaded the Apollo Archive photos to Flickr, which the media has translated into "NASA releases 10000 photos".

You posted that NASA released these images, and you gave a reason for them doing so, to counter conspiracy loons. The site in question is a cool site, but not NASA, and it has nothing to do with countering conspiracy loons at all.

A link to a cool site with tons of Apollo photos would have been well received without the editorializing.

It's basically a digitisation project. Not everything in the world is available on a computer from the moment it is created. Astounding, I know.

No, the digitisation project was done years ago and is available at the links I posted before. This is just a mass upload to Flickr.
