Hey all,

I decided to go back to the previous version using the option under the beta selection menu in steam. Steam installed 64 bit version of 1.1 along side the 32 bit version of 1.0.5 and this seems to be causing some issues. There are 1.1 parts showing up in the VAB/SPH when i had selected and loaded 1.0.5. Also, wheels do not respond to right clicking in the VAB/SPH and they don't respond to WASD when on the runway/launchpad.

Is there an easy fix like deleting the 64bit files and folders? Is there a way to only download the 1.0.5 (32 bit) version without 1.1 (64 bit) piggybacking on the install?

I'm having the exact same problem.  Completely clean install of previous version from Steam, and I'm seeing the same thing.  Interested to learn how to correct it.

What build number are you getting for the 32 bit version?

Edit: Just for the record, when I go back to previous stable build, it gives me a pre-release build. If you can give me your build number I can let you know if the same is happening for you.

BuildID.txt gives me

build id = 01028
2015.11.11 at 01:03:33 CET
Branch: master

At the start screen I have

v1.0.5.1028

And I also have a BuildID64.txt

build id = 01230
2016.04.19 at 19:58:54 CEST
Branch: master

Steam gives me the option of selecting 64bit at launch, on the start screen

v1.1.0.1230 (x64)

Alright, let me check some stuff, hang tight.

Edit: Ok, 1028 is indeed the latest 1.0.5, and I can't get steam to give me that version without the 64 bit stuff.

Edit2: Was your clean install installed with the 'previous stable version' checked? Or did you install and THEN check previous stable version?

Edit3: Ok what I managed to get working is delete the KSP folder so its a fresh install. Make sure I have Previous Stable Version selected before I begin the download. Let steam install as normal, then delete the 64 bit .exe and folder. Looks to my eyes to be 1.0.5.

I had selected previous version prior to install. I've just deleted the 64bit exe and folder but the parts and models from 1.1 are still present. The wheels still don't respond to right-clicking or WASD and both the Mk1 and Mk2 IVA views are broken (I'd imagine because the unwanted 64bit version has overwritten some parts).

Indeed I had. I even tried installing 1.1 and going previous from there, but the result is all the same.

Edit: I finally found a way to submit a question on steam support after a good while of going around in circles on that site. If its a steam issue, I hope they can address it.

OK, so I found a backup of my gamedata folder and replaced the ~/gamedata/squad/ folder with the one from my backup and now it seems to be without issue. Wheels work and IVAs work.

I'm gonna go ahead and say that the reason it failed in the first place was entirely because 1.1 part files were overwriting 1.0.5 parts. I think it's up to steam to fix the way the game downloads previous versions.
