Eh. Honestly, I like the Youtube format you've got going a little better. One of the problems with live streaming is that you have to be online to catch it, and I'm not online most of the time. I like youtube because it allows me to watch your videos on my own schedule.

One thing with the live stream is that it does create an actual YouTube video.  So while it may no longer be live, you won't miss the content.  I might do a separate "live" series, and keep this one as is.  Scott Manley released his last Realism video today :(

Still, I like the commentary you have, and lots of blank time is boring. While I'd still watch it, I don't know if you'd get more viewers.

"Realism."

Yeah.

Right.

Because lots of real launch vehicles have SRBs attached to the bottom engines of their first stages, right?

Note to self, don't strap a huge SRB under my main stage engine.

Well, solid-liquid rockets have been done and proposed (I'm looking at you, Ares I, you backwards-stable POS!), but the way that he did it, without any form of aerodynamics whatsoever, was just ludicrous.

I'm not so sure that your DRE is set up correctly. 12-13G is normally when they start taking damage. Also, you should probably do a shallower insertion with your first stage.

I think you're right in both regards.  I'm going to look into my DRE setup, I've played in the past where I got messages about over-gees, and was really surprised when I didn't see it this time.  And yeah, my insertion angle was all wrong.  I'm doing 1,600 m/s and still pointed at 45 deg, when I should have passed that around 1,000 m/s

Yeah, something must be up with DRE, I just pulled 19 gees on reentry and everything was fine.

Definitely not safe for sustained periods of time (i.e., more than 5 seconds).

I know that unmanned equipment can take 45G before breaking, because I did some testing for an unmanned sample return a while back.
