Extraplanetary bases support: personell

I am a big fan of building extra-planetary bases to launch missions from, and to that end I've amassed quite the collection of mods intended for that purpose. However, one big issue I've had with that in the past is personnel- often, I've found it more cost-effective to ship a production plant and build most of my base in-situ, however this then requires shipping in more kerbals, sometimes several times as I expand research outposts into proper bases as needed, and I've found it unbelievably tedious.

 

now, obviously, I've just lived with it thus far and found ways to reduce the number of times I have to deal with that, such as the stupidly huge ~150ish-kerbal Stardragon lander I'm fond of using, but that still causes issues- especially since I have to ride herd on the thing to keep them from smacking into things.

so I was wondering if there are any mods out there that could help wih this issue- I had two real ideas. the first would be a bit cheat-y but handy for Sandbox and maybe even Science mode, namely, some way to transfer Kerbals into a pod from KSC in flight, but this may be A) really hard to actually make happen and B) wouldn't really work all that well in career mode.

the other would be some sort of conditional notification system, that way I could just set the trajectory and not have to sit there watching it until a set event- crossing into a body's SoI, for instance- and could therefore go do other things like crashing spaceplanes hilariously because I'm bad at not flipping over halfway down the runway.

anything like that out there?
