lazy kerbals

Recommended Posts

basicly, this challenge is where you try to do incredible things, with limited parts. (the kerbals were to lazy to do much science to unlock parts.)

you need to start a new science mode game.

you can edit your save file to get as much science as you need

then unlock some parts

with as little science as possible, get into orbit, go to the mun, or another planet

the less science used unlocking parts to build a rocket (or space plane) get to orbit, mun,or another planet, the better

rules:

No cheats (alt + f12 or hyperedit)

stock parts only

have fun

no (part-adding) mods

scoring:

amount of science used to get to orbit, mun, or another planet, the less science used, the better

(These are examples)

to another planet

1.) 846 science

2.) 1,034 science

3.) 1,398 science

(These are examples)

to the mun

1.) 568 science

2.) ect.

3.) ect.

(These are examples)

to orbit

1.) ect.

2.) ect

3.) ect

scoreboard:

planet

1.)

2.)

3.)

mun

1.)

2.)

3.)

orbit

1.)

2.)

3.)

Ooh! I'll start this one. In a recent speedrun, I used 50 science to produce a mission that supplied 1842 science (excluding World's Firsts and contracts). It's in career mode, but so long as I'm excluding world's firsts and contracts, it should be ok, right? In the video below, building the ship and running the mission runs from 21:45 to 55:35, and the video below should skip straight to the start. I can guarantee, it was fun to run! I've always enjoyed leaping from 50 science to 2000 in a single bound. This mission, with a few modifications, should be good for lots more science, because it can farm EVAs from low equatorial orbits of the Mun, Minmus and Kerbin. Perhaps I'll make a longer mission trying exploiting these soon, but people are pretty awesome at science farming, so I'll bet there'll be some heavy hitting entries coming quick on my tail.

Summary
This mission went to Kerbin orbit, Mun orbit, Minmus orbit and Minmus, and netted 1842 science using a craft made from 50 science. Thanks for the challenge! Your sure to get some creative ones.
