Is it true that most KSP players never go interplanetary?

That's rather nice actually... easier than remembering phase angles for each target planet. How do you handle inner planets though?

Granted. however, it's a basic rough simplification, meant to help get you started, and it's easy to remember. It's how I first learned in orbiter. :wink: Your depictions verify it. As they start slightly after (15 minute-ish) sunset, and sunrise. It's simply to get you going and let you learn without holding your hand completely.

  This one is a bit harder, as the inner planets can have multiple orbits before you actually reach them (depending on what planet you start from). You'll have to play with the nodes to get back home. after you find a position that works, take note for future ventures. Mech-jeb is a wonderful learning tool for this (when it's functioning with the current release) as you can set up a return, then look at the planets positions before leaving. You'll start to get a second nature instinct about it eventually.
