I don't like it. I don't like the reboots, they suck ass. They're all made for the generation of people which isn't capable of perceiving or enduring a movie that doesn't have those annoying HOOOONK sounds, maniacal camera moves, overly dramatic acting, lots of huge things crashing and exploding, etc.

The reboot is basically ignoring the crucial part of Star Trek best described in TOS and TNG and that is exploration and science fiction, and replaces it with tedious fantasy and politics. Screw that crap.

Nice to know I'm not alone in the universe that loved Star Trek the way it was. Thought it was part of aging. Or perhaps it still is who knows.

For me Star Trek died back in 1994. When ST:TNG ended. I'm sorry guys, I just miss Captain Picard. ST:VOY was a joy to see, though it only reminded me of the good old ST:TNG days.

Now as for the movies, hey, I kind of like them! But it's not real Star Trek to me. I'm sorry, I just miss Captain Picard. Wait, wut, I've just said that right?

No, it's not aging, it's just good taste.

Oh, and let me just add, to those reasons I've mentioned above - weird, unnatural, skewed colors of the picture.

The thing about space is that there really isnt much to see. You have a mostly empty void. And every episode for some reason the spaceship would always encounter some spacetime anomaly. If it was an anomaly then it would be rare wouldnt it? Instead it happens almost every episode. People are starting to realize that. And now the old ST just is completely unrealistic. And the crashes and explosions? They provide a suitable replacement to the sexualization of the franchise. Look at Voyager, Their ratings were plummeting until they added some cyborg lady in tight clothing. Then they went back up. And honestly the whole "Exploration" concept is flawed really. Because in reality the likelyhood of meeting another ship in interstellar space is rare. And most planets wont be very interesting.

A true ST reboot would resolve all the scientific inaccuracies and set the timeline in a far enough future date for human settlements to be founded and forgotten, Meaning that the Aliens would be Us. Plus the battles would be uncommon but extraordinarily beautiful, With lots of missiles and flak and tracers. And the space scenes absolutely gorgeous with flowing nebula's and star clusters... And yes. a few lens flares.... Why not.

Another good idea would be to humanize the characters, Morality can still be a big thing. But make the people act like people rather than cartoon characters that have been censored by parents for family viewing. Allow a little swearing and maybe a few bad things done. We all do something and to have people that don't is inhuman.
