If you think you have trouble with docking, these guys apparently want to use mass drivers not just for propulsion, but RCS. Lord I hope that was a typo, or a mistranslation, or something.

The stone itself isn't terribly useful for much more than scientific purposes AFAIK. Chucking the useless bits out as a means to propel the craft actually makes sense. In a way we do that in KSP all the time, rather than haul kilotons of fuel out to capture that E-class, we just use the asteroid for fuel. And besides, if the rock was ground into a reasonably fine dust, using it as RCS wouldn't be immediately dangerous.

I can see that, sort of. But a scaled-down mass driver is still a railgun. I wouldn't want a constellation of them trying to dock with my shiny new L4 station, that's all.
