landing gear guidelines

Recommended Posts

For the latest landing gears are there any guidelines for use?

For example 3 tonnes per LY-10. 30 tonnes per LY-99 XL.

How to prevent blow outs on take-off? Nearly every time I rotate for take off I blow out the back set of gears. I'm currently blowing out 8 LY-10s on rotation. (the heaviest gear is have unlocked).

2 tonnes per LY01. 1.5 tonnes on a LY05. 8 tonnes per LY10. LY50: lots. <- these are conservative limits, assuming moderate landing and takeoff stresses -- and that you land mostly empty of fuel.

The easiest trick to avoid takeoff rotation is just to fly straight off the end of the runway (but it doesn't always work to save your gear). The second is to use a canard design instead of a traditional one, since canards do not put downward forces on your landing gear. Using the offset tool to raise the nose a little during your takeoff run can help. Of course, as icedown said, moving the gear a little closer to your CoM can prevent blowouts at the price of an increased risk of tailstrikes.
