[3.2x Rescale] The Erpollo/Matter Applications Project

Recommended Posts

So what's my mission?

Using the Saturn launch vehicle family (with perhaps some occasional support from an Atlas-Agena or an Atlas Centaur, maybe even a Titan II or two) and Apollo hardware, do some cool stuff. The general point is to provide a sort of alternate history look at space exploration using vintage American space hardware, in a 3.2x scale solar system (resized using SigmaDimensions) with Revamped Stock Solar System.

Goals (Finished Started Not Started)

  • Develop essential launch vehicles
    • Jupiter/Redstone (Footiper/Greenrock)
    • Atlas (Ratlas)
    • Atlas-Agena (Ratlas/Proxima)
    • Atlas-Centaur (Ratlas/Solar)
    • Titan II (Laythan II)
    • Saturn I (Matter I)
    • Saturn IB (Matter IB)
    • Saturn IV (Matter IV)
    • Saturn INT-21 (Matter INT-21)
    • Saturn V (Matter V Moon Rocket)
    • Saturn MLV (Matter MLV)
    • Nova (Jova)
  • Build essential Spacecrafts
    • Mercury (Lerkury)
    • Gemini (Duameni)
    • Pegasus (Winghorsey Micrometeoroid Satellite, Test Payload for Matter I)
    • Firstgoer Landers and Probes (Pioneer Program)
    • Mariner (Sailor Program)
    • Apollo CSM (Erpollo Command and Service Module)
    • Apollo LEM (Erpollo Munar Excursion Module)
    • AAP LCM (Erpollo Applications Project Munar Cargo Module)
    • AAP LLM (Erpollo Applications Project Munar Living Module)
    • Skylab Station (Starlab Station Core)
  • Perform Space Science and Exploration
    • Sample Micrometeor Data using Pegasus Satellite
    • Perform Munar Orbit Science using Subsatellites, Spacecrafts, and Flyby Probes
    • Land probes on the Mun and Minmus
    • Land astronauts on the Mun and Minmus, and do the other things, before the decade is out.
    • Set up a Space Station in low Kerbin orbit.
    • Send probes to the other planets
    • Send astronauts to flybys or landing on other planets
    • Set up a base on the Mun and/or Minmus

Stream 7/4/2016

In which I develop the Explorer 1, Mercury, and Pegasus satellites, along with their respective launch vehicles.

Offstream Development 7/5/2016

I've been working on some of the other launch vehicles outside of streaming. I intend to stream designing any of the Matter family, and the actual Winghorsey satellite launches, but I think building a few of the launch vehicles off-stream is justifyable.

I never got a picture of in it orbit, but I managed to get a Matter I into orbit with a Winghorse-mass payload.

Atlas Two-Stage-To-Orbit Launch Vehicle is finished construction. It should have the fuel to put a Lerkury into orbit, given the amount of fuel that this one had left on orbital insertion.

The Laythan II launch vehicle is also complete, and is capable of putting a Duaemeni Spacecraft into orbit. Well, mostly. The spacecraft's OMS had to complete the burn. But that's fine, because it had plenty of delta-v once in orbit.

Offstream Development 7/6/2016 - Message from Program Director Gregromund Kerman

Lerkury Program fanatic and KSC intern Bilburry Kerman just found the photos from the Lerkury/Atlas rocket test. Now we have to publish them. Needless to say, Bilburry was fired.

We didn't try another launch because by this time the Duameni Spacecraft was already finished and ready to be mounted on a Titan II, and we figured it might as well have it be our space program's first orbit.
