[Stock Plane] SUPER ENIGME B2

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone. Let me show you onE of my creations.

If my outrageous accent won\'t trick you, I will tell you something : I\'m French 8)

I like to do some unusual ships ans planes in KSP, because it\'s possible, and sometimes it even flies well. So, I will show you my last plance :

[glow=red,2,300]Le Super Enigme B2[/glow]

(For the ones who asked for the name, it\'s a joke based on an early jet plane of the French Air Force, the Super Mystère B2 : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dassault_Super_Myst%C3%A8re )

In the following spoiler box, a picture of the plane.

I could tell you a tale about the conception that takes hours to do this, but it would be a lie. It takes me around 10 minutes for the whole shape, and 1 hour for fine adjustements.

So, here is the reason i made this plane and share it : I wanted it to be flown without SAS or Mechjeb, despite it\'s possible.

The result : flyable at around 150-170m/s around KSC with throttle to 2/3, can reach 14\'000m and speed up to 650m/s at top altitude.

A little fly manual :

Despite all my efforts, the gears are litterally stick to the runway when you take-off, leaving you with the feeling you\'re driving a truck with asthma.

1) Full Throttle, without brakes. Acceleration is very slow, don\'t panic.

2) Rotation at 50m/s. Once you lift off, it will speed up quickly. Throttle to 2/3 for saving fuel, gears up :)

3) ENJOY !

guide to landing :

very stable at low speed, you can land at 60m/s without problem, even 40m/s. However, it is prone to nose-diving when you brake, so I add a braking chute. brake with small touches.

Note :

The Canard plans are precisely positionned. they\'re not Horizontal, but tilted upward. If you detach it by accident, CTRL + Z or add them with a little tilt upward (shift + A or D).

It had a roll issue, a known bug with planes in 0.15. If by any chance it occurs, you can delete the tail fins on the lower wing. It\'ll change the rotate speed to 60m/s.

I hope you\'ll enjoy flying it as much as I do :)

GO TO 1:45 !
