Adding a poll to an existing thread

So I'm sure this has been asked a lot before, but is there any way to add a poll to an existing thread ? Editing the thread only allows to edit the thread (you get what I mean).

(I will take a look at older posts to see if this has already been answered now that I have posted this one)

 

Edit: so I can actually add a poll to this thread, so I guess you are only able to do it as far as no one answered your thread

There may be a limitation based on subforum (honestly not sure), like the really really awful question format that constantly reorders the posts so they make no sense may not support it.
