I require a pivot

Recommended Posts

I have been trying to develop a spacecraft that, when rotated very fast, will fly upwards. No problem. The catch is that i have no yaw or pitch control and it flies in circles until crashing into the ground. I need a tail fin that was held on to the craft but did not rotate at the ridiculous speeds. So i attempted to create one using struts and girders. That, unfortunately, spun with it and exploded. Is there any way i can create a pivot that allows for yaw control?

btw, this is what i'm trying to fly:

Hey @Nuclearsheep, what you're building there is essentially an electric-turbine. Usually the part you've made (the turbine/rotor) is attached to a much larger craft by design wizardry, and then the larger craft is the one you (mostly) pilot/steer.

Check out the Spacecraft Exchange subforum for many examples of crafts using such arrangements - anything that says 'stock helicopter', 'stock turboprop' or 'stock electric propellor' is going to feature the sort of gizmo you're looking for, and many provide download links to craft files to test and tinker at your leisure (and also most of those guys are real anoraks and happy to bend your ear about how they did it :D)
