What are your satellite launchers?

Recommended Posts

Because the stock one wasn't good enough :P

I don't know about you, but when I design "Space Planes", they are meant to make a short hop into space. I occasionally use SSTOs, yes, but instead I focus on a reusable launch vehicle that sends payloads halfway to their LKO destination.

Here are some of mine, which range from 0.625m based drones to MK2 craft. I almost never use MK3, as a payload requiring that would be better off with a rocket launch anyway.

0.625m:

1. Thunder S

Used for probes <1.25m across, and uses a docking port to separate the payload. Whiplash. No rockets. Download

2. Thunder T

Used for probes <1.25m across, and uses a hardpoint to separate the payload. Whiplash. No rockets. Download

1.25m:

1. Squall I

Used for probes up to 1.25m across, and uses a docking port to separate the payload. Two Whiplashes. No rockets. Download

I'll add more to this as I upload them to KerbalX :)
