How to make better tourists

Recommended Posts

So I would really enjoy tourist contracts that require you to go above and beyond. Since that is pretty broad I would like to provide examples.

this one would go hand in hand with some volcanoes/ other cool stuff so: show 2 tourists interesting spots on duna. This would also give another use for rovers.

make contracts like: 3 tourists would like to have a good view while on minmus, so put them in a lawn mower chair and drive them around. Also this would require tourists to sit in chairs

make tourists that seek thrill: 2 tourists would like to experience 5-7g. Not more and not less.

That's not a problem with tourists. It's the contracts that are bad because of their randomness.

I would rather have a contract creator with a user interface that lets me pick my own objectives and how many tourists and where I want to take them (if there are volounteers that is).

I'd rather be able to offer tours, rather than the tourists picking where they want to go without consulting me.

I have a perfectly fine space station in Minmus orbit, it has a few spare beds, and I send ships there relatively often for science experiments (thanks to the lovely mod StationScience). I clearly wouldn't mind sending tourists up there and back along with the shipments. However, I have no such infrastructure on Duna and I don't make regular trips there, so it's not a destination I'd advertise to tourists. Why can't I advertise "affordable charter trips to low Minmus orbit" while making it publicly clear that no (reasonable) amount of money could convince me to take a tourist to Duna or Eve? A small setting somewhere, listing destinations for tourism, could make tourist contracts a lot more fun. I specify where I want to take tourists, and they take the offer or leave it, rather than suggesting new, outlandish places for me to haul their sorry buttocks.

Exactly. That's why I think we should be able to create our own contracts.

I'd like that. Set your main objectives, then you get 1-5 'offers' for different rewards, while each one may have additional objectives in the SOI: You have an offer for 5 tourists to Minmus? Great! We'll pay you 20k a head, but while you're out there if you could rescue Bobfred, who we accidentally left behind in orbit during a bathroom break... That kind of thing.
