Loosing one of the vessels after separation during atmospheric flight

Recommended Posts

I have constructed an air-launched rocket-plane, which launches from the mother ship (think X15 that launches from B52)

After separation I can switch between the ships just fine with [ ], but only as long as the distance between them is less than 20km.

After that, non-selected vessel vanishes from the map completely, like it never existed. It does not crash and remains functional, just vanishes along with the crew.

Is this a bug or missing feature?

No wonder you lose boosters even when parachuting them...

It's actually the limit for KSP, there is no in-game vanilla way of extending the range.

If you are looking for a mod that can fix it, then it is the Lazor system mod by Romfarer, Bear in mind that Lazor adds a lot of other parts and windows, if you like stock it might not be for you.

Edit: Lazor system is actually outdated, only works for .90

I have not clue on how to extend the range.

BDA is BDArmory right? (sorry, I am complete noob to the Kerbal space )

Yes, but I am not sure if it can extend the destroy range, but I am sure that it extends the physics range (the range which the craft will be affected by physics)

Wherever that non-selected vessel went, I think it went over the bermuda triangle.

It's pretty much everywhere O.o
