The Iron Bob Challenge

I wanted to see how far I could get with half a tank, I was aiming for the large crater but could only get to the very edge of it.

Then I discovered how difficult it was to get back without falling short or dying. How I got here is beyond me, as you can see it was only my 2nd attempt (you can see Jeb there in the gray)

So now I have a challenge for you guys. How far can you get with the jetpack and return safely? Can you beat 12.8 Km? Quick Saves are permitted and needed, trust me.

Here is the result after finally not crashing to Bob\'s death. I honestly am not sure how he survived this one, it was pretty hard.

Finally home. It was a lot of fun and a huge challenge. Had to walk about 100m but I think it still counts

More proof to me that Bob is the unsung true hero of the kerbal space program.

It\'s possible to put a kerbal into orbit around minmus from standstill using the EVApak. I managed it myself, but I didn\'t slow down in time for the landing, and the kerbal in question got splattered. So technically that\'s an infinite distance if you leave the kerbal orbiting.
