To Jool ! ( Career mode save )

Just started a new career mode save with the target to go to Jool. All progress will be on this page. I don't usually play KSP, so the best you can hope for is new progress every week.

First mission after landing, picked up 20+ science. Jeb swimming around.

Researching that science. I spent it on both nodes with another 2. After I completed another contract I researched the tier 3 parts except for that middle one.

Oh, and I upgraded the Astronaut Center so Jeb could do some science when he goes on the Kerbodyne 2...

Yes, it actually does! However, it slugs along at barely 1m/s.

I actually saw this idea on YouTube, not my brilliance

Plan to farm science around the KSC so I can get to orbit...

Today's progress:

The Science Collecting Thingie 2 ! To science out the VAB, because apparently it is a biome...

Collecting the science...

Landing just shy of the VAB.

Time to do this !

In preparation to go to orbit, we need to research the tech first, which is the LV-909 engine. It's cheap too!

 And with that done, we present: The Kerbodyne 3 !

Ready for launch.

Liftoff with the Flea helping as a start boost.

Explosively decoupled the Flea and activating the LV-T45 engine.

We have reached space !

Doing the orbital insertion burn...

... but we didn't quite make it. Anyway, Jeb went out and collected all that tasty science. Mmmm, science. 

The craft later descended into the atmosphere, and as expected, caused some heat. Jeb is getting a little toasty. Gotta remind the engineers to install a air-conditioning system...

Parachute deployed and the Kerbodyne 3 has landed safely in the water. Water is sizzling a little. Jeb feeling REALLY hot.

With all those tasty science, we researched radial decouplers for moar power. And moar power means moar boosters.

With that done, we built a new rocket: the Kerbodyne 4 ! (Before we could announce it, the engineers had rolled it out to the launchpad already)

We have liftoff!

Maybe a little too much boosters...

Decoupled the boosters and firing the liquid fuel engine. Kerbodyne engineers have put too much oomph into just about most things.

Decoupled the fist stage and cruising to apoapsis. Hey, is that the first stage 20km away?

Need...to..go...to...orbit!

YESH!!!!!

I guess doing science also has to be cool, eh?

After harvesting the endless amounts of tasty science,(Mmm, science.) Kerbodyne Mission Control decided it was time to come home. Goodbye, space! ( Although we will be visiting it endless times anyway)

The engineers installed air-conditioning this time.

 

Parachutes are not beautiful in the dark, but water is!

Splashdown! Funds and Reputation are streaming in like crazy! The bank can't make enough cash! ( Because they didn't like their money as ones and zeros )

The engineers and scientists can bath in science for a month now.
