Why is the HG-55 not a Relay antenna?

If anything, it should be the opposite, frankly. Why do you think a single dish should be able to point more than one direction at once, exactly?

That's not an answer, I never liked RT, either (having to use a relay for anything other than LOS issues to landers or low orbiting stuff means it's broken).

Bottom line is that HGAs have very narrow beams, all a relay really is is usually a UHF to talk to a rover, etc, and a board to receive, buffer, then retransmit using the HGA aboard.

The real issue is why the new HGAs are made of Lead (or maybe Osmium).

I assume you mean they are too heavy. 4 da new playaz of course! To balance things out and introduce them to the game mechanics! It's how things work in gamez yo yo yo yo
