KSCRC (Kerbal Space Center Racing Championship)

The KSC has been chosen to host the first season of the KSCRC, a multi-class championship with 4 classes of cars. You have been hired as a test driver for one of 6 teams; Owl Aircraft Racing Team (Drivers: Jebediah Kerman, Bill Kerman, and Valentina Kerman), Nasa Engineering (Drivers: Bob Kerman and (Unknown)) (A secondary team to OART), Faze Racing (Drivers: UNKNOWN), Inkopolis Tech (Drivers: UNKNOWN) (A secondary team to Faze Racing), Oblivion Tech (Drivers: Unknown), and End Island Racing (Drivers: UNKNOWN) (A secondary team to Oblivion Tech).

You are tasked with designing a car, driving it around the track you want for 5 laps, and setting the fastest time possible. You can choose from 4 classes; Endurance, Rally, Sports-car, and Super-cup. The Endurance car must have at least 5000 units of electric charge, headlights, closed cockpit, and a maximum dimension of 5m x 10m x 5m (Width, Length, Height).

The rally car must be like a buggy; with a roof, but open-wheeled. The maximum size dimensions must be 5m x 5m x 5m (L x W x H)

The Super-cup car must be as close to a F1 car as possible. The size dimensions must be at maximum 3m x 2m x 2m (L x W x H)

The Sports-car must be closed wheeled and closed cockpit, have headlights, and have a size of at maximum 5m x 4m x 2m (L x W x H)

You must show which team you will choose, and tell which course you will use. You also must use the class of car that the track is. (i.e. If you drive the rally car, you must choose either rally course 1 or rally course 2; Not a Super-cup or Endurance car.

 

Rules

1. You need to choose which team to test drive for.

2. You need to show which class of car you chose.

3. You need to show the size dimensions (In the engineers report in the SPH or VAB)

4. All vehicles except for Super-cup must have headlights.

5. Endurance tests must take place at night.

6. RCS is allowed, but a maximum of 16 ports are allowed.

7. The part limit for all vehicles is 200.

8. There can be a maximum of four wheels.

9. 25 points will be taken off if the vehicle loses a piece.

10: Super-cup cars must have a Elevon at the rear, which will be put down at the beginning of the longest straight. (DRS)

11: Each car must be manned, but a drone core can be placed to allow the craft to stop.

12: No corner cutting is allowed. (5 point penalty per corner cut)

13: If you receive a flat tire, you can stop, repair the car, and re-do your run without penalty.

 

Scoring

• Time means points. The less points you get, the better you will do. (Like golf.)
