Save games not showing

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

I have a save that originated in 1.0.4 and up to yesterday in 1.2, I was playing ksp and my computer lost power. I booted up my computer into ksp then while loading the game my computer lost power again, fixed the problem of the power issues, i loaded up ksp and was horrified to see that all of my save where gone, i looked in my ksp folder and saw that my save where there, i have tried so many things: also when i speak about world i mean the save game i use almost daily ive put so much into this save.

1,  create new folder in saves folder than paste world data into new folder=fail

2, create world in ksp then drag files from my world into new world= fail

3, backup gamedata (w/ mods) and saves then re install ksp=fail

4, facepalm=fail

5, google for help online and follow instructions=fail

my fear is that this world is corrupt but i really want to play this world.

thank you for your help

for those nerds:)

So I downloaded your save folder and had a look.

The persistent.sfs file in your download is completely corrupted. There is nothing readable in that file.
Your best bet is to delete this file. Copy and rename your quicksave.sfs to persistent.sfs or copy and rename one of the files in the backup folder (choose the one most relevant).
As to how your file got corrupted... anyones guess. A mod? or KSP was closed/cancelled whilst saving the game? Hard to know.

So if the persistent.sfs is corrupted doesn't that mean my whole save is gone? and to the fact that my game wont even show any of my save after re downloading ksp im so confused maybe somethings wrong with my pc

No there are several backups in your backup folder and there is a quicksave there as well.

Pick the most recent one : persistent (2016_10_29_18_42_54).sfs
Copy that to where the persistent.sfs file is.
Delete the persistent.sfs file.
Rename persistent (2016_10_29_18_42_54).sfs to persistent.sfs
Restart KSP
