Gunhed
Hi,Previously I had it figured out how to build a ship that gets me into orbit and on the mun.I\'m unable to do the same with the new moduels. It either ends in a catastrophic event or the ship is so heavy that it doesn\'t even lift off. =Pcan someone post me a picture of a ship that is able to go to the mun with the new modules, just so i can get an idea on what I\'m doing wrong?Kind regards. Ghery88
I think I managed to succeed, but not 100% sure. I ended up using well known parts for my first successful Munar mission though. Give me a moment, I\'ll check my designs.
Marcvs101
New parts are tricky, but this should get you to Minmus with TONS of fuel left. (it can also land on the mun)Edit-I have finally learned how to get the spoiler feature in here
BillWiskins
Heaviness does mean some sluggish turning, but this will get you to the Mun (or Minmus, if you\'re that way inclined*) with fuel for pratting about once you\'re there.* This is a funny joke, because Minmus has an inclined orbit, and I used the word \'inclined\' in a different way, which is funny, so laugh. Ghery88
It looks like I don\'t have to post screenshots after all.
DeathFromBelow
I like this design so far, it doesn\'t create any orbital debris and has plenty of fuel for polar Mun landings. The lower stage is jettisoned just before reaching orbit. Middle stage is used for orbit insertion/trans-Munar injection/Mun descent. I haven\'t tried a trip to Minmus yet. You need to use a lot of struts. In particular, the TR-19A decouplers will break if they don\'t have additional struts connecting them to the fuel tank below. Without them you\'ll get catastrophic failure once you burn off some fuel (if you can even get off the ground).You\'ll also want to reinforce the ASAS/parachute if you position it on top of the large crew capsule, otherwise you\'re in for a surprise just before landing. Gunhed
Thanks a lot everyone. This will give me an Idea.I\'ll send a picture of my own construction that crumbled under it\'s own weight, for a giggle of you.
Gunhed
Here\'s the 'thing' I created. For some 'reasons' unknown to me it crashes during take off.
