Need someone to make space art for my site.

My site solarcolonies.weebly.com is basically my own little fictional universe. I imagined a storyline that i write down and publish on the site. It has short stories, And encyclopedic data. Currently it describes a scifi future in the 2150's,but that is ending. I am going to transition it into the 2300's (150 years later) at the start of 2017. But the universe i have imagined has largely surpassed the available stock art that i can find online. So i would greatly appreciate it if someone would help me out. To start with, I need a image of a terraformed Ceres surrounded by a transparent shell with a hexagonal grid pattern, I also need an image of Uranus with massive domed artificial continents.

Any help provided would be welcome. I would like to have beautiful illustrations  for the next gen of my site.

I can help you with some of the mechanics of the web-site. I have already commented on it as Peter, and I would love to see some real science fiction stuff. But unfortunately I can't draw well so I would just be a mechanics adviser.

Thanks :) If you have a weebly account i can make you a collaborator in the site if you want. An now to reply to your comment:

An Ort cloud colony is stretching it though, it would be on the outskirts of heliosphere and be poorly protected from interstellar radiation. And since there would be very little sun or no sun at all, there would have to be a huge fusion generator to give electricity and you would need He3, which is only found on bodies close to the sun where solar radiation engulfs the place. There is a possibility of just deuterium and tritium fusion but it is less efficient. Also what is the main form of travel? It would take ten years to reach Neptune with conventional rockets and the moons there are sparse and puny, except Triton but still. Also since this is in 150 years in the future, have you decided whether or not FTL travel is possible or not.  But still it is a great site and I hope you become successful in your endeavours.  grin.png

The reason for such a huge diaspora is that instead of using colony ships. The distant worlds were colonized using seeder ships. Unmanned vessels designed to construct colonies using machines and then incubate a population of frozen Embryos using artificial womb's. Then the colonists would be raised by machines or in some cases: A single individual who was sent along to function as a parent to the first batch or two. There is FTL in my story but it is a heavily guarded secret carried by the Saturnians.

Great, wormhole, hyperspace or warp? Or is it a secret? If it is a secret we should not discuss it here. Seeder ships are a pretty good idea (I once thought of that, there is no new idea in science fiction right?) and I enjoy the different types of governments for each planet. You have though excluded the ten or so space elevators on Mars and Titan :). I enjoyed the Saturnians and Venusian cloud cities. But you missed the fully autonomous deuterium and tritium mining of Jupiter. Also the ice mining on Europa, "We bring you fresh ice from Europa, mined fifty days ago. cost:200 sd a glass." reads a poster selling water.

Europa is deep within the Jovian magnetic fields. It is overwhelmingly expensive just to survive there. So currently Jupiter it just too hostile to make the trip worth it. As for the space elevators... they haven't been built yet. Though massive constructions have been done, such as the Saturnian dreadnought Echelon or the massive artificial continent constructed by the Uranians in their atmosphere. They will be built soon enough.

Can't specially built robots survive Jupiter's magnetic fields? I mean the Juno space craft is orbiting it very closely and it is not destroyed yet. All mining in the Jupiter system would be fully autonomous, including delivery. It would be better to mine Jupiter and keep all the other moons and planets solely for living space. But I can't help thinking about how all the heat on Mercury would be radiated off, also since it spins so slowly night is many days long it would be freezing.

The heat on mercury could be radiated in many ways, but we should also remember that 150 years from now, we would have better methods anyway. As for Jupiter, perhaps it is being mined. I never covered it. But it certainty hasn't been colonized on the large scale, most of the Jovian system is a no human zone.

Right. I read your short stories. They are great. I enjoy how you employ many different characters, also their names are great. But how did the UN take over the world? I mean what did the nations in the UN think about that? By the way, my real name is Peter Ray.

The UN never took over the world. It handled Earth's interplanetary affairs. What happened was that China who's government had been getting weaker and weaker while it's military was still massive. Control of the Chinese government was seized by North Korean officials and the two countries merged creating a hostile superpower that swept the entire world within a few years.

By the way if you PM me your email i can make you an editor on my site. Which means you would be able to see all my indev stuff, As well as help manage things. Only if you want of course.

I would love to help! My email is [email protected] or if it is not compatible, [email protected] is my outlook account. Thank you for the invitation.

Your welcome :) I added you.

BTW what did you think of the short stories? It is of note that my Stories vary in age, The Mercury one is the first one i wrote, And the Uranus one is the latest.

Great story on Uranus, I just can't help thinking that the sunset would be a big deal, it would be very small and would give little light to Uranus. I love how they live on a flat world, a world with a edge. Awesome.

The Sunset would be dimmer than on Earth, But i think it would still be quite bright, And if the Uranians use some sort of magnification like an orbital lens, Then it could be much brighter.

Very true. By the way, I am writing the dreadnought section that was left blank, is that ok or not? If it is, then what classes do you want me to write down?

Be my guest. Just dont publish until i can review them :) Aside from that. Do whatever you want (In the ship section) as long as you don't mess up continuity  I dont want all this to end up like Star-Trek Voyager here.

I have been giving you some likes as my payment for letting me into this venture. By the way, what format do you use for the ship section? Also how fast does the average dreadnought go in Au per day?

Oh um... The page titled "dreadnought" is just a menu page, A hub for all the sub pages to be acessible from. Please create a sub page within for all your designs :) And please dont make any of the ships you put in the dreadnought section anywhere near the size of the "Echelon" class. Its supposed to be the De-facto Titan. Just create a page for your ship within the section that specifies its class. :)

Done with the Gypsum class dreadnought, backbone of the Terran fleet. I think I got it down. How many classes of dreadnought do you want?

I have to say i really like the Gypsum, I think i'll redesign the page for the Echelon in the same way, But i think this ship would be better in the Martian or Neptunian fleets, As the Terran ships were never this big and were nearly all obliterated when Earth was invaded and largely annihilated. http://solarcolonies.weebly.com/terran-saturnian-war.html Though i do think that i could include this ship in the Neptunian fleet when i finally get around to writing about the war of 2153, Which will devastate the major powers of the solar system and leave the way open for new ones. Also BTW. If you add "/home.html" to the end of the site URL then you will see the prototype of the second homepage being built to replace the first when we start on the next gen of the storyline taking place 150 years later.

Changed it up to be in the Neptunain fleet, thank you for your complement. I think I am going to add a cruiser spot, how does the Intrepid class battlecruiser, pride of the Plutian fleet sound?

Glad you're enjoying it :) Just please make sure that each ship design has it's own page filed underneath the general classification just like how i put your dreadnought in the dreadnought section.

Also notice at the bottom of the pages list there is a page titled "Home" check that one out. It's the indev homepage for the website when i switch from 2150's to 2300's next year.

Sounds pretty good. Though i think "Plutonian" is the adjective according to wikipedia. Anyway, Pluto is a member of the "Trans-Neptunian Federation" So i think "Federal" might be more appropriate.

Its pretty good, advancements to everybody in the solar system as well as a radiated Neptune, pretty interesting.  I think I need to do a Martian Battleship, does The Justice class battleship sound good to you, or the Incredible, make your pick

Justice i think is better. Though you should also consider some terrain features on these worlds. Perhaps Olympus might be a name for a Martian dreadnought for example. Just remember that nothing can be as much as half the size of the Echelon nor can they have FTL. :) I have plans for that ship. It will play a pivotal role in the final battle of the 2153 war.
