Building upgrades through UI icons

You know those UI buttons on the left of the screen towards the bottom when you're viewing KSC?

My suggestion is that, in career mode, you can also click there to upgrade the buildings.

 

I was playing with various "alien space programs" - in which KSC is "moved" to other worlds...

However, Duna Space program has a broken KSC screen. My version of it for my planet Rald has a broken KSC screen.

In sandbox its fine because I can use the UI icons on the bottom left to navigate from tracking station to the SPH/VAB to the launchpad/runway, etc... but a major problem comes in career... I can't upgrade any of my facilities with the broken KSC screen. Allowing one to upgrade the facilities through this button woul be a work around for this mod... but I thought, wouldn't that be a nice UI feature anyway in stock KSP?
