SAS / Problem with burn

Recommended Posts

Hello all,

I have a little problem and doesn't have a idea what i did wrong.

I built a SSTO and I built many of them but never had such a problem.

If I start to burn in Space (SAS on) the SSTO starts to turn and it can't hold prograde or any other direction.

Any Ideas?

In general, it means your thrust is not pointing to your CoM. It can be caused by a variety of reasons - forget to turn on/off some engines (yes it happens more frequently than you thought!), fuel line/crossfeed problem starving some engines, CoM shifted after burning some fuel, etc. Need picture/craft to tell exactly what's going on.

As @FancyMouse says your thrust is most likely not aligned with your CoM. Either that or you still have an active trim setting. Use [Alt]+[X] to reset all trim to zero.

Under normal circumstances the torque from a cockpit is enough to counter a minor trim or thrust offset. As long as it has power! And Rapiers do NOT generate electricity. You might have simply run out of power.

But, as FancyMouse said, pictures would help a lot in diagnosing you issues.

Some parts are from MK3 Expansion mod.

I think my trust points in the right direction (COM)

Eletricity is not a problem I have some Radioisotope Thermoelectric Generators.

I have changed some positions of my parts in the cargo bay - I think the problem is solved.

If I turn SAS off the SSTO starts very slow to turn it's direction, but with SAS on is everything ok.
