Wierd lander problems.

While I am happy that I have successfully gotten to the Mun with the new parts, I have had to land without the aid of ASAS, because when I go above a quarter throttle with ASAS on, my lander spins uncontrollably until I either turn ASAS off, or kill my thrust.

I realize this, but the whole point of ASAS is to stabilize a craft, and in my case, it is doing the polar opposite of that.

I landed on the Mun manually... it may have toppled over, and some parts exploded... but I landed without ASAS.

sas seems to be very usefil to me, in the launch stages, and the burn phases, to keep me on course. on final approach/landing, i typicall use precision control (caps) and do all of the landing manually (which i start at about 10,000m.

I use ASAS for parts of liftoff and orbital things, but turn it off for landing. You don\'t really need anything except a small craft and an engine with thrust vectoring for landing on the Mun.

Do you have thrusters that are above the CoM of the lander? That could explain your problem - they act as if they are below the CoM, which is the wrong way round, and every 'correction' the ASAS attempts only makes things worse.

At lower throttle levels the Command Capsule rotational strength exceeds the thrusters efforts and keeps things under control.

I had one that did the same thing and I ended up abandoning it, butI wasn\'t using ASAS. I would love to look at the .craft file and see what\'s causing it.

Hehe... I have since updated that ship to work properly under ASAS.
