Strategies

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

I chose the strategy that converts money to science. As you know, it already costs a lot... about 12000 credits for 1 science point.

Most contacts early in the game have rewards less than 50,000, which will result in less than 12,000 getting deducted for the strategy. And since the money deducted from the contract (which is caused by the strategy) is less than 12,000 credits, I get no science points for that specific contract.

So my question is this: Does the money accumulate and once it reaches 12,000 it gets converted to 1 science point? Or do I lose the money forever?

Thanks.

while i don't  know the answer and dont wanna be dictating you how to play,  you are really better off with the money than the small amount of science itll give you.  youll need cash to upgrade all your buildings, and find that once your doing trips to the mun or minmus, 1 or 2 science points from your cash is peanuts compared what youll get from actual science data.

I actually setup this strategy at 60% once I get all buildings except SPH and runaway to lvl2.  Since I like missions involving satellites,  rescue with the eventual tourist or test in the mix,  I really  don't mind to keep doing those until I have enough funds to upgrade the R&D facility to lvl3 and open the entire tech tree.

Some caveat :

-I decline missions I don't like to make more desirable ones to appear.  No «do science at X,  Y,  Z locations» or «test [part] at [conditions ] » if big adjustments in vessel or launch profile.

-optimized for multiple contracts  with a single launch  and using Kerbal Alarm Clock to run multiple missions in parallel

-Using a mod to automagically run every available experiment at every KSC biometric without a launch
