checked the wiki page afterward, very detailed, and the video there is kinda cool too, that's just a totale nonsense but that's how it "feel"

It was used in submarines, but the data rate is so low that was only useful to say them: go up to listen, we need to send you a message

And the whole earth also hears your message. Its very difficult to encrypt also.
