J-20 Juno and J-33 Wheesley engine dont snap

Recommended Posts

Im in the Vehicle Assembly attempting to build a sub orbital plane and when i attempt to add either the J20 or J33 engine it does not snap or bind. I have no idea if this is user error or if this is KSP glitch. Please let me know thanks.

Often things won't snap if they default to pointing in the wrong direction. When you have grabbed one of those engines, try clicking the S key to reorient it. (The WASDQE keys do 90 degree rotations in the VAB/SPH.)

The other way you  can sometimes get things to snap properly is to hold down the Alt key while you are trying to snap them.

I assume you already know they need to attach to nodes on other parts, and that's what you're trying to do.

A quirk with node attachment, though, is if  you're looking at the end of a node attachment, it won't attach. You need to rotate the view so you're looking at the attachment from the side. I don't know what the threshhold is where it works.

This happens in the VAB too, but you tend to encounter it more in the SPH.
