Eve Semi-direkt mission

Recommended Posts

So ive already been to duna ,set up a base on moon , and tried to bit ice dust of minmus

But now my aim is for Eve and the mission is already set up but i think i can ad something to improve it survivability and make MOAR fun.

So  my craft is: 4 engined nuclear tug a habitat and a return capsule

Mission is set up to fry evry bit and piece of habitat (watch it burn in the atmosphere ) and make science out of it!  and then return all 3 kerbals back to kerbin ,the problem is that i think the mission will be boring and dangerous when i will approach the Eve's atmosphere . Can you help me making my mission great?(sorry for REALY bad grammar im just a Russian ) ( i want you to suggest other modules to my station and keep as llow cost as possible)

I trust you're not planning to land and return, because you need pretty beefy stuff to get three Kerbals back from Eve's surface (if you're not using command chairs, anyway). Pictures would help, too. It sounds like you're planning to do a fly-by (or aerobrake to orbit) and drop science packages into the atmosphere?

It really depends on what he meant by "semi-direct", since every time I heard "X-Direct" I think of Mars Direct.

In Mars Direct, you will Need at least two launch, a Earth-Return vehicle with IRSU, and a landing ship with lab and habitat. In Semi-direct approach, you split the lander into two, one contain lab only and the other Habitat only. In either case, no mothership involve. The Earth return Vehcile would launch first, use the IRSU to generate fuel, then once it's ready (coincide with the closest window) the lander(s) would be launch and land on Mars.

Since Kerbals doesn't really need a mothership in orbit, unless one want to generate all the science using a lab while en-route between Eve and Kerbin, I think it's definitely do able -- it's just the matter of staging and the thrust of ERV.
