Questions about the stack decoupler

Shouldent the stack decoupler be 'higher' up or the lander lower so that the engine is inside the decoupler? Is it not that way in the real rockets? The engines are hidden from view untill the stages separate.

This has been like this since the beginning, or some time near the beginning. There have been mods that add stack decoups with shrouds, so try looking for those. Don\'t know why the creators diden\'t do that in the first place though. Beautiful rockets ftw o.o

Well, it\'s always been like that, like the poster above me said. You can

get the NovaPunch pack for shroud decouplers though

It doesn\'t bother me any, as the decoupler still does its job. At least the smaller one, anyway. I wouldn\'t be surprised if stock shrouds are added in 0.17 with the bunch of new parts.
