I tested with modded and unmodded and got the same result.

There is a bug with the ''target'' marker in that tutorial. At 1st it shows on the navball, than if you engage SAS, sometimes it disapear, sometimes its replace by the anti-target marker. Obviously if you stay with SAS on you'll crash
