CAREER MODE GAME CRASH

I am deep into a career mode game. I have Mechjeb 1.3 installed. When I hit the water and tried to recover the ship my game crashed. When I restarted the game  the mode would not load. I am receiving the following message .. Object reference not set to an instance of an object....      

Is there anything I can do?
