Are there currently any Kerbal ragdoll files that can be imported into a Source game?

Recommended Posts

If anyone is familiar with it, I've been dinking around with the new Source Filmmaker tool by Valve, and I had a craving to do some Kerbal stuff with it the other day. I'm sure there are other programs I could be using, but it's free and fun. Aaanyway, after a fair amount of searching, I could not find any ragdolls or parts to use. I actually really expected to see them as a download for gmod, but no dice. I'm no modelling expert, so I have no idea if rigging something like this so soon after .16 release is even possible, but I'd love to know if there's anything available out there.

I've been playing for a long time, but I'm new to the forums, so if this thread isn't on the right board or if it breaks some content distribution rule just let me know and the mods can have their way with it.

Its possible that someone could model them from scratch but it would be time consuming (don't look at me, I'm an awful modeler).

I don't know if you would hit any intellectual property issues though, would be awesome to see though.

From what I learned searching for this, the Kerbal EVA models are all in the game files already and come packed with the necessary VTFs and bones. I'd assume porting the rocket parts would be far easier since there are no (or few) joints, but really, I have no idea.

Since I'm new this post had to go through the mods before it was posted, so I'm guessing there's no IP issues, but I'm not sure about that either.

The stock ship parts are in a proprietary format (.mu), as far as I know no one has managed to reverse engineer them back to a format you can use elsewhere, the demo version includes them as .dae files though (which I've only had limited success importing).

Other alternative is to start from scratch...

This thread is quite old. Please consider starting a new thread rather than reviving this one.
