Game crashes after the start-up screen gets halfway

Recommended Posts

So I just re-installed Kerbal Space Program after I uninstalled it because it wouldn't start up at all. But now that I have re-installed it, it will load halfway, and then crash. Yes I have mods installed, please help, I can't play at all and I love this game.

This is the error I get, not sure if it will help or if you need more of the error. Let me know?

mono.dll caused an Access Violation (0xc0000005)
  in module mono.dll at 0023:100704db.

If you can't eventually fid a fix your issue, I would just recommend grabbing all your save files and reinstalling, because I'm not sure what we can do to fix your issue especially if you are using lots of mods.

I'm fine with just resetting the entire game, I don't need any of my saves. But I tried reinstalling and all of the mods were still there. Is there a way to like 'factory reset' the game? So it is as if it's brand new again?

should I delete the entire folder and then uninstall it or the other way around?

Simply delete the folder. KSP does not have registry entries that might linger.
For KSP there is no such thing as an (un)install. All the 'install' process does is extract the compressed download and copy it to your HDD.
