Vessel has no remote-controlled or manned command module

So I built rocket based on the rockets NASA sends out, the giant orange rockets with two smaller rockets and a space shuttle. I just finished it and I double checked everything: The propulsion for the 3 rockets and the shuttle, the wings, the control surfaces, and the staging. Everything was perfect. But, the rocket kept having the issue: vessel has no remote-controlled or manned command module. I don't get it. I have a pod on the shuttle. Am I supposed to have a second pod on the main rocket? Am I supposed to do something that involves the communication things? 

For reference, the rockets and the shuttle are all connected with the T T-70 Radial Decouplers if that makes any difference.

Do you have crew in the command pod? They don't work without at least one Kerbal.

Depending on the order that you put a ship together, the game may automatically fill the command pod with Kerbals, or it may not. If you get that message, then there are no Kerbals in the command pod, and you have to use the Crew tab to put some in by yourself.

Nitpicking: Astronauts. Because tourists don't provide control.

 

Another possibility its that what you included is actually not a Pod but just a Cabin, a part that can (and is) hold astronauts but don't allow control of craft.
