Question about auto-retracting solar panels.

Recommended Posts

So I have searched all over the internet for this, with no luck. I am using SP-L 1x6 solar panels on a rover. When I deploy them they will charge my batteries until they are fully charged then auto retract. This is extremely annoying, because I want to have them always out.  The only mods im using are KAS, KIS, Mechjeb and some other misc ones. Is there anyway to keep those solar panels extended???

While I haven't used those mods in a while, I would wager that Mechjeb is causing this problem as it does manipulate ship systems. There's probably some setting somewhere in the Mechjeb that deals with electrical systems.

Though there always is the chance that one of the other mods has a very strange bug.

It's definitely not a stock feature though.

^  Very likely MJ's auto deploy solar panel option.  Go to the MechJeb Settings menu and click Disable Auto-Deploy, then report back.

Nothing about that in the regular settings page. Maybe you mean in the ascent guidance, which was already left off.

I have however found what was causing it. In the Rover Autopilot, it was the Brake on Energy Depletion setting, which doesn't make any sense to me.

I'd better up vote your answer then! :D
