Hmm.  Not sure if copying it out of an old KSP version and posting it as a part 'mod' will be kosher - that's probably redistributing Squad's assets.

Like DStaal said, it's probably a violation of Squads license to redistribute their model and textures. I know that for the mod below (which has all the old ksp parts), they had to get permission granted.

Right, and what do I do to get permission for the asset? Do I like fill in a form, PM someone, email SQUAD, or something?

This part appears to be available in the version of Kerbal Historical Institute I mention here, with a current working link to the mod on Curse.
