michal.don
Hi there, I'm a little confused. I recently started a career in a system where planets are roughly 3.2x larger and the distances 6.4x larger. To ensure the comm ranges are the same (for example the same type of antenna can reach Duna), I modified the antenna range by a factor of 6.4, as well as the DNS strength. But the part description still gives me values that are roughly the same as the original "stock" configuration. Is there a factor I'm missing? Or are just the part descriptions in the VAB "hardcoded" and do not change according to the difficulty settings? Thanks, Michal.don
evileye.x
Part descriptions depend only on part config, not difficulty setting. And in my opinion, stock antenna range are so overpowered that I decided to go 1x antenna range and 0.5x DSN range for 6.4x For super-long range I decided to use additional orbital relay with one or two also I would recommend Edited July 24, 2017 by evileye.x

So, if I understand correctly, I need to multiply the value stated in the part description by 6.4 to get the actual range? I'm at the point in my career where I'd like to send the first probes to Duna and Eve just to get a bit of science, and not set up the relay network yet, because my choice of antennas is very limited by my tech so far. BTW the Antenna Helper mod looks very useful, I'll have to check whether it works with 1.3 at the moment. Thanks, Michal.don

The spreadsheet not so much unfortunately, the system I'm playing is not a pure rescale, but it also does a bit of planet shuffling. Thank you again, Michal.don

If DSN strength and Antenna Ratting multiplier is 6.4 range is also multiplied by 6.4.
