MaqAttaq
I've had the game for a few years now. I just upgraded to KSP 1.3.1 using the OSX installer. I did the usual tricks to get it to work (moving it out of Applications, etc). However, anytime I try to run it, it freezes at the first screen. When I did a fresh install of KSP, this is where it freezes at. Important note: The splash screens and witty activity all continue to rotate. The load bar just freezes at their respective points. Though, in the first, it makes it to where it says "Loading Asset Bundle Definitions", then jumps to the /Squad/Spaces/mk2InlineInternal/Internal/mk2InlineInternal. No, I am not running OSX High Sierra yet (have apps that haven't been made compatible with that yet), and I've rebooted my Mac. And again, I moved it out of the Applications folder, even moved it back in. Any feedback would be appreciated here. belimawr
I am having the same problem, after a fresh install using the installer (this is the first time I'm running KSP on a Mac) when I launch the game it starts the freezes with the message "Loading Asset Bundle Definitions" I haven't done anything else than a fresh install. The logs are here: https://pastebin.com/4V9Q9jR0 It seems that KSP cannot access some files like "/Applications/KSP_osx/GameData/Squad/squadcore.ksp", the files do exist: "-rwxr-xr-x 1 root admin 3.2M Oct 5 22:11 /Applications/KSP_osx/GameData/Squad/squadcore.ksp" it might be a permissions problem My system is: OS: Mac OS X 10.12.6 CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-7567U CPU @ 3.50GHz (4) RAM: 16384 GPU: Intel(R) Iris(TM) Graphics 650 (1536MB) SM: 41 (OpenGL 4.1 INTEL-10.25.17) RT Formats: ARGB32, Depth, ARGBHalf, Shadowmap, RGB565, ARGB4444, ARGB1555, Default, ARGB2101010, DefaultHDR, ARGBFloat, RGFloat, RGHalf, RFloat, RHalf, R8, ARGBInt, RGInt, RInt, RGB111110Float Edited October 7, 2017 by belimawr

MaqAttaq
1) Already tried any suggested in post #1. No go. 2) I don't have High Sierra. Don't plan on upgrading to High Sierra until other programs I have support it. If you read my post, you'd see that. That said... I ended up downloading the zip file. Running it alone will not work - black window. I had to right-click, show package contents. Then browse to Contents > MacOS, then run KSP from there. I have to do this every time. Also, I disabled Gatekeeper (running sudo spctl --master-disable), and still had the same issues with the installer-installed (recommended install) 1.3.1 version that is a clean install (none of my saves, settings, etc.). Also, running KSP.app will not run straight, unless I do the trick I mentioned earlier. So I sincerely doubt it's a Gatekeeper problem. Note: The trick does not work with the installer-installed 1.3.1 version. I thought before I only had to copy the KSP executable, but no, it has to be the whole KSP_osx folder. I’m using 10.13 High Sierra. So far, no stuttering. I was wondering. Do you have mono installed on your computer? because when I start the program by this way I read his on the console Mono path[0] = '/Applications/KSP_osx_1.3.1/KSP.app/Contents/Resources/Data/Managed' Mono config path = '/Applications/KSP_osx_1.3.1/KSP.app/Contents/Data/Managed/etc' So I started to think that we have an interference between our installation of mono and the resources that come with the executable. But I am not sure because is the first time that I have this problem.
MaqAttaq
So, it was back to square one... tried firing it up this morning after a hiatus... nothing. This time, I completely removed the install under Applications, as well as a folder on my desktop. From there, I reinstalled (had to run it twice for some reason). Then, I moved the KSP_osx folder to my desktop (using the terminal -- trying to click/drag out of applications only creates an alias). Ran it -- no problem. Just put it back into Applications, re-did my settings, restored my saves out of Time Machine, and now it runs. A food for thought... other apps I install don't have this problem. It's only KSP. And no, I haven't upgraded to High Sierra yet, due to other app incompatibilities.
